Asthma and COPD Music

The National Assessment of Health Literacy documented that 47 percent of the US population demonstrate low health literacy, limiting their ability to read and understand written and printed health-related information. Our unique delivery of asthma education is constructed on the music of Asthma Blues® to communicate content and is congruent with national guidelines. The music and lyrics from Asthma Blues®, address the patient education goals found in Section 3, Component 2 of the Expert Panel Report (EPR-3) and delivers 5 of the 6 key priority messages from the Guidelines Implementation Panel (GIP) report. Overall, patient and provider communication are improved by using and speaking the common language written into the music of Asthma Blues®.
